Our Mission Statement and Outreach

The Purpose of CLC is to make evangelical Christian literature available to all the nations, so that people may come to faith and maturity in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Our Mission Statement reflects that CLC’s ministry is not confined to bookshops and warehouse alone. Our missionaries are out and about, doing bookstalls and mission events. CLCers also speak about the ministry to churches and groups and help support other ministries in the UK and around the world. In fact, CLC’s purpose is implemented in many ways, including all of the following:

• Opening and developing Christian bookstores throughout the world where facilities do not exist or may not be adequate.
• Equipping and maintaining mobile units for the sale and distribution of Christian literature and related products.
• Developing mail order and computer based website programs to reach areas not covered by a store or mobile unit.
• Serving other groups with booktables, correspondence courses and lending libraries, and sharing, when invited, in a preaching or teaching ministry.
• Providing wholesale services to facilitate the widest possible distribution of evangelical publications.
• Establishing and operating printing presses where such can improve production and effect savings.
• Organizing the writing and translating of manuscripts.
• Publishing materials in any language which will fill gaps in the existing range of Christian literature.
• Promoting literacy programs, where such are necessary.
• Encouraging the distribution of Christian literature by every Christian.
• Challenging other Christians about the power of Christian literature, and informing them about the needs and opportunities both in their own country and around the world.
• Encouraging men and women to join CLC as full-time members.
• Co-operating with like-minded groups throughout the world in furthering the above activities.
